Scotties Facial Tissues asked me what my favorite soft summer moments and memories are! A soft summer moment is one that warms your heart, makes you slow down and savor the wonderful summer season.

Growing up my favorite soft summer moments would have to be when we traveled to visit my Grandparents in Wisconsin. Playing out on their farm with the goats in the early years, and later walks around town when the weather was just cooling off. I really miss the family time we had just savoring each others company and just being kids!

Another favorite soft summer moment from being a kid is swimming! I’m not sure how but my brother and I could swim for hours! Lakes, pools, or even the old tarp slip and slide my dad put down with dish soap on it..we could have fun in the water for hours! I really hope the weather picks up this year in NW WA state so I can take my kids to the river to spend all day swimming!

Now as an adult with my own family my favorite soft summer moments are slowing down and sitting around a camp fire in our own yard, and roasting hotdogs and or marshmallows. No dishes to worry about, no crumbs to sweep up after…a mothers pure bliss! Sure the kids get a bit sticky, and one gets a bit sneezy (he has allergies, the Scotties samples I received are helping out nicely with Sages summer allergies!) but we all have a good time! My only care in the world is making sure Cruz doesn’t fall in the fire, and that the dogs don’t eat all the food!

Every year we try to make it down to the ocean for a barbecue and fun in the water. It’s always a good time watching the kids play in the “sand” (we have mostly rocks around here) and looking for sea life! My favorite soft summer moment at the beach is watching the sun set. It’s so beautiful and you can just relax and watch the water change colors and know your kids are going to bed soon 😉image

Spray Pal for Cloth Diapers- Review

This post contains affiliate links, the cost is the same for you, but helps this blog grow.

Life. Changing. I am so glad I decided to grab Spray Pal – Cloth Diaper Sprayer Splatter Shield off Amazon! I no longer dread the toddler poo diapers. Plus, I am able to get them so much cleaner so there is way less smell happening! The Spray Pal is also good for those pee diapers! I like to rinse all my diapers off before tossing in the pail if I have time.

The Spray Pal folds flat for storage. You can purchase it in a combo kit if you want a wet bag that fits perfectly. Or you can toss it in a large one if you already own one! My wet bag is large enough I can fit my dirty diapers on the bottom of the bag and just set this on top of them. Just give it a good rinse if needed first. If you don’t already have a diaper sprayer or are new to cloth diapering they have a kit that includes a diaper sprayer as well.

Now, the Spray Pal is great! But for me it had a bit of a learning curve to completely contain the splatter. My diaper sprayer is actually a home-made set up with a bidet handle, and it can be hard to ease into a full spray gently. The first couple times I got excited and got a speck of poo on my wall, but I quickly figured out proper angles for spraying and it has been easy-going since!

Love the illustrations!

My toilet is funky shaped and shallow so I use it with the lid down, and wedge the Spray Pal into the seat for a secure fit. If I am doing more than one diaper I have not needed to remove the Spray Pal to put a new diaper in, I simply remove the first diaper and wring it out (I’m too lazy to use the flatten and squeeze feature if more than one diaper), toss it in the wet bag and stick a new diaper under the clip. But you can totally follow the directions and keep your hands clean! After 5 kids I have personally given up most of the time 🙂 I love anti-bacterial soap!  ***ETA: I started doing my diapers individually as needed, and I’m loving the squeeze feature to wring the diapers out!! My hands don’t get wet at all! Of course I still wash 😉

I really don’t know what I would do with out this..I probably wouldn’t happily stocking up on fluff for baby boy due in 3 months! This gets 5 stars from me! It’s durable, easy to use, and easy to store! This post was not sponsored by Spray-Pal, but stay tuned for a sponsored give-away!

NOT MY VIDEO! But here is the video that convinced me I needed one!! I was going to make one, but figured my kid would end up dropping the phone into the toilet with my luck 😉

Organic Bamboo Nursing Pads (10 Pack) With Pink Laundry Bag – Ultra Soft, Reusable, Hypoallergenic, Washable Breastfeeding Pads

This post contains affiliate links to amazon for this product. The cost is the same for you but any purchase helps this blog grow, and is appreciated!

So far these are 5 stars from me! The laundry bag is must have for nursing pads, I always lose one for a few cycles stuck inside something random! The bag will keep them all together and safe. I probably wouldn’t wash more than a couple sets at a time in the bag to allow for proper agitation, but I do have more laundry bags so I can just use this for storage.

I am still pregnant so not leaking yet, but I tried these in my bra and they didn’t bunch or show through my regular bra that I can usually wear while nursing. Anything will show through my thin sleep nursing bra, so I only wear it at home anyway. I love having washable nursing pads because let’s be honest, disposable ones feel gross, get smelly, and just are irritating to your skin! These pads are very soft, and I love that they are made from bamboo. The color coordinated water proof layer is great! Especially if you get thrush or something you can designate one pair to use with medication etc…

These are a great value for the price but I received this free in exchange for my honest and unbiased review, all thoughts are my own and were not compensated in any way! I will update if any issues arise.

Baby Cat & Jack Clothing @ Target

Ummm holy cow! Target has a new brand coming called Cat & Jack. Not only are the baby outfits cute and trendy, but they have clothes coming for big kids too! I went to Target today to buy my nephew a birthday present, so of COURSE I went to the baby section to see whats new! I spied these two outfits and couldn’t leave without them!

Once I got home I wanted to fill my cart with more of this brands clothing because I loved the outfits so much! Well looks like they were only stocked as a test or accident! They are not due out until August! THE BEST PART: They warranty your clothes will last a year! Any issues you just return them with receipt. So I’m going to be making a special envelope for my receipts…I’m sure there will be a “few” of them!

Buttons Diapers Hanging Wet/Dry Bag- Review

This hanging wet/dry bag from Buttons Diapers has been a great addition to my cloth diapering routine! I can fit 12+ one size diapers with inserts comfortably, or I can store my spray pal easily inside.

Not only is the pattern cute (they have girly as well!), but it works great as well! I have had no leaks from diapers left in there for a few days. I do wring my diapers out before tossing them in. The two handles are perfect for hanging off a door knob, or my current solution is hanging on the towel rack off a baby hanger.

Another great use for this wet/dry bag would be overnight outings with baby! If you had smaller diapers than one size fully un-snapped you could fit more than 12 diapers easily! This would also be great for swim suits after a beach/pool trip!

Overall this wet bag gets 5/5 stars from me!

Check it out here! They also sell diapers!

I was provided a sample of this product for the sole purpose of providing my honest and unbiased feedback in this post. No compensation was received.

Daisy Squeeze Sour Cream w/Recipe

When I first heard about Daisy Squeeze Sour Cream, I’ll admit I was skeptical. Other brands add things to their condiments (example: mayo) to keep the consistency and then the flavor is off! Daisy delivered by only having pure sour cream! I love sour cream, and use it a lot when cooking and to top off meals, but I hate when you need a second scoop and someone gets food in with the sour cream! SO GROSS!! This squeezable Daisy sour cream eliminates the cross contamination aspect and makes my life easier! No more finding mold inside the lid because your kid set a spoon with hamburger meat on the lid. The squeezable package is also really easy to handle, you don’t accidentally get too much! The size is perfect for a few meals & would be great for bringing on a picnic where you will be barbecuing! I’m sold for life, and so glad the price is right!!! ($2.49 at my local Safeway).

Recipe for the yummy potato burritos I made for breakfast this morning using Daisy Squeeze Sour Cream.

I was cooking for three adults and had already fed the kids cereal, so adjust amounts for what you will need for your family.

  • Daisy Squeeze Sour Cream
  • Salt, Pepper, Oregano flakes (or whatever you like to season with)
  • Potatoes cubed/chopped (I used about 8 of various sizes)
  • 1 can of nacho cheese (you can use regular shredded, I was lazy)
  • 1 large scallion chopped (easy sub would be green onions)
  • 1/2 large onion chopped (not shown)
  • minced garlic to taste
  • 1 jalapeno chopped
  • Salsa
  • Pack of tortillas

Heat some oil in a large skillet on medium/high. Chop the potatoes and add to skillet. Season potatoes I used salt, pepper, and oregano flakes. Flip/stir the potatoes for about 10 minutes making sure they are evenly coated and not sticking to the pan. Put the jalapeno and garlic into a food processor if wanted to make a nice finely chopped mixture and add to the skillet. Add the scallion and onions as well. Mix the potatoes well and lower food to a simmer, place lid on skillet and let simmer for 15 min flipping potatoes every few minutes to keep from sticking. Add cheese and some salsa and simmer for 5 more minutes making sure mixture is even. Test potatoes to make sure evenly cooked.

Spoon potato mixture onto a warmed tortilla, squeeze desired amount of Daisy Squeeze Sour Cream on top, fold into a burrito, add more sour cream on top. Salsa is great to have on the side to dip bites into.

Cruz really enjoyed eating his burrito, he kept having us add more Daisy Squeeze Sour Cream on top of his, and we finally had to cut him off when we caught on he had stopped eating and was just licking the sour cream off the top!

I was provided a coupon through Bzz Agent to try this product for free. This post is not sponsored by Daisy Squeeze Sour Cream, but the product was provided for the sole purpose of me providing an honest and unbiased review.
